Book Review: ‘The Fiancée’ By Kate White

I really enjoyed author Kate White’s last book Have You Seen Me?, so I was excited to get an early copy of her new book The Fiancée. Well my excitement didn’t last long. It’s a solid thriller that doesn’t live up to her last book. A solid story with quite a few different plots going on but the climax left me less then thrilled.

Summer is an actress and is married to Gabe and step-mother to his nine-year son. It’s time for the annual family summer get together at their rural Pennsylvania estate. The whole family will be there for a week of family and a little business. Gabe’s brother Nick (a bachelor and playboy) is brining his new girlfriend Hannah. When Summer meets her she knows her. A actress that she has worked with before. Hannah denies knowing her, which Summer finds strange. And Hannah does other little things that has Summer’s radar up. Then Nick announces their getting married. Then a tragedy strikes and Summer goes into detective mode to try and solve it. All signs point to Hannah and then another tragedy takes place. Summer thinks it has to be Hannah and she soon learns if she’s right when her life is in danger. Will she live long enough to expose the guilty person?

You can picl up The Fiancée in stores on Tuesday, June 29th from Harper Paperbacks.
