The Fellowship of Puzzlemakers was founded many years ago by Pippa, a club/business for people who love puzzles. Twenty-five years ago, a baby was left at the front door of the place they live, and Pippa took the baby in, who was named Clayton. Now today, she has passed away, and Clayton is on a quest to find out who his real parents and family were. Pippa has left a trail of puzzles for him to solve in order to find out what he’s searching for. Via flashbacks, we learn about Pippa and her friends in the Fellowship, and we follow Clayton on his quest, meeting people from Pippa’s past. Along the way, he learns a lot about himself and may even find love. This is great, heart-warming novel, that gets you emotionally invested in the story and Clayton. This is one of the best books of the year.
