Paul and Darren have been married for five years, and are planning a trip to Venice for Christmas. Then Darren tells him he wants a divorce, Paul isn’t the man he needs him to be. Paul decides to go on the trip alone. He finds the flat that was rented, and has trouble talking to the landlady and working the coffee machine. The first night, he sees a dog running around, and he becomes obsessed with finding it. He walks the streets, eats fine food, and a has fling with a hot waiter. When he finally finds the dog at a church, something unleashes in his mind and he starts to come to grips with his life. This is a fun little novel, at only 64 pages. It’s a sweet novel about taking stock in your life and moving on.
