Sarah Booth and her two friends Tinkie and Cee Cee take on Easter trip to Lucedale, Mississippi for a girls get away. They decide to visit a miniature Holy Land display called Garden Of Bones, run by a man named Daniel Reynolds. While there they discover a dead body of what many consider a shady lawyer (and he had many enemies in town) named Perry Slay. He was poisoned and the main suspect is a man named Erik Ward, who is a local pharmacist and a man who was suing Slay.
He claims he is innocent and hires Sarah and Tinkie to prove that he’s innocent. As they investigate they find a lot of people including Reynolds who had grudges against Slay. When more bodies pop up and Erik is never anywhere to be found, they soon think that maybe he’s guilty. It takes everything they have to figure out what is really going on in this small town.
These Sarah Booth Delaney books are always a lot of fun and this one doesn’t disappoint. There’s a reason that this is book number 21 in the series, well-written characters and stories.
