The Dead Night Killer was last active seven years ago, was never caught, and just vanished. Now the killer is back after a Netflix docuseries about the killer has aired, and people associated with it are turning up dead. Cory Pratt, who trains dogs, and his detective sister are called about a missing man, and Cory’s dogs, Rex and Alice, discover the dead body. And more bodies are popping up, a plan is put into place to lure the killer out, goes haywire, and puts Cory, and the dogs, in the crosshairs of the killer. Someone else has figured out who is doing the killing and rushes to try and stop the killer as well, and when we learn their identities, it comes as a complete shocking twist, and it may be too late for Cory. Another solid dog thriller from Burton (Mace Reid K-9 series), that makes good use of the dogs, the lead characters pasts, and twists you don’t see coming. Fans of his previous books will enjoy this one.
