Sadie Miles has a little girl, Izzy, who is three and finds herself pregnant again. She’s been with her boyfriend, Sam, who she’s engaged to for a while now and needs to get away from him, he abuses her. She finally takes off with what she can carry, not much money and heads for a small Ohio town, on The Cut, a beach on Lake Erie. She finds a maid job and a free room, at the L’Arpin Hotel, a historic old-looking building. On her first night there she starts to see and hear weird things happening but it only seems to be her seeing these things. As the weeks go by she’s determined to find her own apartment and get out of this place. When she finally learns the truth of what’s going on here, she will need to do everything she can to save herself, her daughter and her unborn child, from an evil that wants her. An intense psychological horror thriller, which gets creepier as you read along. Fans of these types of novels will enjoy this one.
