Book number 5 in the series finally answers a lot of questions and wraps up a lot of plot points. In Leavenworth, Washington it’s time for annual spring Maifest festival and for Sloan Krause and Garrett they’re finishing up some of their new ales to debut. It’s one of the biggest events of the year and everyone is excited. And then Sloan thinks she sees Marianne and then it turns out it is her. She has come to warn Sloan she’s in danger from her past. Sloan finally learns the shocking secrets of her childhood and of the man that could be after her. Marianne also tells her she found a dead maid in her hotel room and thinks it was suppose to be her. The police are called in and heavy security is in place for Sloan and for the festival. Sloan is also looking into the murder and sees and hears things that don’t add up. And when Sloan’s son is taken it ramps up things and Sloan will do whatever it takes to find him. And by the end of the book we learn all the shocking secrets of her past and that of her soon to be ex-husband Mac and his family. Not sure if this is the end of the series, it sure feels like it could be. It’s another fun mystery in the small town with these characters. There’s some LOL moments courtesy of April and the story as I said seems to wrap up all the questions from the previous books. Fans of this series will not be disappointed.

You can pick up The Cure For What Ales You in stores on Tuesday, October 5th from Minotaur Books.
