Book Review: ‘The Christmas Swap: A Novel’ By Talia Samuels

Margot Murray is alone for the holidays, and gets an offer from one of her clients, Ben, to go to her family’s big Christmas gathering, with one condition, be his fake girlfriend. She agrees, and they set off to the join the family, working on what they will say. The first person they see is his sister, Ellie, who Margot runs into, and is attracted to. They are both lesbians, but Margot is keeping it under wraps for this trip. Ellie thinks things are funny with the two of them, and is determined to find out what’s really going on. The two women grow close, while Margot tries to keep up the ruse. Can the two end up together, while protecting the fake relationship with Ben? A solid, fun rom-com, that gets into the Christmas spirit, while following along with this fun plot. Fans of this genre will be happy.
