Book Review: ‘The Boy With The Bookstore: A Novel’ By Sarah Echavarre Smith

Another fun rom-com to add to your reading lists. Joelle Prima owns a bakery in Portland, Oregon and it’s pretty successful. Next door to her is a bookstore owned by Max, who comes in every morning for coffee and a croissant. Joelle has had the hots for him for a year and a half now and decides she’s going to ask him out. When they hang out in Max’s office and drink some whiskey, they get frisky with each other and fool around a bit. Then they find out the landlord is renovating the building and they will have to move together to a warehouse and share space for about a month. Max puts the breaks on things, which doesn’t make Joelle happy. After some arguements, they finally hook up for some hot sex (and some steamy passages) and things seem to be going good, until they have a big fight and it looks like things are over. Then Max finally faces his past and decides he wants Joelle and will try to win her back. Fans of rom-coms will be happy with this one and root for these two to be together.

You can pick up The Boy With The Bookstore in stores on Tuesday, September 6th from Berkley.
