In 1978 four teenage camp counselors went into the woods to smoke pot and hang out, in the small town of Barlow Corners. They all ended up dead. One made it back to the camp and the other three were found in a box in the woods. Foward to today and Stevie Bell is an amateur sleuth who has solved one murder mystery already and got some fame out of it. Now the new rich owner of the camp wants her to come and work there for the summer and investigate and co-host a new podcast about the famout murders, they were never solved. Stevie and her friends head to the camp and she gets right to work. There’s not much to go on but for Stevie that doesn’t stop her. She soon figures out things and it puts her life in danger. Then she gets everyone together and announces the shocking truth about what really happened that night in 1978.

This is a really fun mystery novel with a great character in Stevie Bell. She’s smart as whip and has a great supporting cast around her. Here’s hoping for more novels featuring the character.

You can pick up The Box In The Woods in stores on Tuesday, June 15th from Katherine Tegen Books.
