It’s time for new beginnings for two sisters, Jax and Ryleigh, in a small west coast city. Jax is divorced from Harris, and they have two kids and a unique shared custody agreement. Each week, they rotate and live in their house, while the other one leaves. Jax owns a successful bookstore and lives in the apartment on top of the building. Ryleigh is a school teacher and is in love with Dustin and waiting for him to propose. When he does, she turns him down, and is shocked she said no. She is thinking of moving to San Diego and making a new start. Jax, who hasn’t dated since her divorce, is asked out by the hunky Marcus, who is doing reconstruction on her building. Ryleigh spends time with one of her best friends, Alex, and his little boy Noah, who lost his mother to cancer a while ago. She realizes she is in love with Alex, but worries his heart is still with his late wife. We watch these two relationships and what becomes of them; there’s also a side story with Jaxz’s ex, and what a jerk he is. This is another incredible novel that only Susan Mallery can write. The two main characters you root for to be happy and follow their hearts. The small town setting works great here, and we have the best supporting character in any novel this year…Ramon the Parrot!!!! Run, don’t walk, to get this book.
