Matthew Rose has had a bad injury while in the service in Iraq has returned home with his memories lost and must deal with his father’s death and a return to where he grew up and the woman Georgie who loved him.

Returning to Montana is not easy for Matthew. He has no memories of his time there and only knows what others have told him. His first night back in town he sees a house on fire and a woman Abagail has died and a man running from the scene. He has flashbacks to a fire 15 years ago and wonders if it has any connection to this fire.

Georgie is a reporter and is working the story and talking to people that may have know Abbie and gets some off the record info from a cop. Things with Abbie may not be what they seem. This isn’t the end of the violence. A cop working the case is murdered, someone tries to burn down the house where Georgie is staying one night when Matthew is there with her. Matthew starts getting flashbacks of things and starts his own investigation which leads to a secret storage container his father had and in doing so opens up the past and puts his life along with Georgie in jeopardy.

A strong story with likeable characters and twists you don’t see coming. A thriller you won’t want to put down.

You can pick up The Blaze in stores on Tuesday, January 21st from Putnam.
