Book Review: ‘The Blame Game: A Novel’ By Sandie Jones

I really enjoyed the first two books by author Sandie Jones. The streak has ended. Her third book is good but not on the level of the first two. It just kind of plots along and I found myself just wanting it to be over. There’s a couple of major twists that help save it a bit but not enough. Naomi lives in England (and has a secret past) and is married and is a psychologist, who works with people that have been domestic abuse situations. She sometimes gets to close to her clients and goes an extra step she shouldn’t. That happens with Jacob, who is being abused by his wife. She offers him the use of a flat she owns, to try and escape his wife. Then he goes missing as does his file at her office. Things don’t look good for Naomi. It seems like they have been having an affair and she is the prime suspect. Then things change with shocking reveals and twists and nothing is as it seems. Someone is setting Naomi up and it could be any number of potenital suspects and Naomi will have to fight to clear her name.

You can pick up The Blame Game in stores on Tuesday, August 16th from Minotaur Books.
