Traci Beller was 13 when her father vanished without a trace. Five years ago he was declared dead and a private eye went looking for him to see if she could figure out what happened to him, with no luck. Now the tenth anniversary is coming up and Traci, who is an internet star and has her chain of muffin stores, wants answers and calls the one man she thinks can solve the case. Elvis Cole. He follows all the leads the previous detective had and comes up with nothing until a few new clues pop up from witnesses that saw the man before he vanished. Elvis has ruffled some feathers and is being followed by some bad men, is beaten up, and finds the people responsible, along with Joe Pike, after he recovers and learns the shocking truth about Traci’s father. Thinking it might be the end of it when he learns the truth, it’s not, and he has to rush to save lives before it’s too late. This is the 20th novel in the series and it is great. Nobody writes these kind of novels better than author Robert Crais. It has everything and more you expect from this series, including the awesome duo of Cole and Pike. It’s a great way to start off the new year.
