A novel that spans 76 years follows the relationship of Kate and Bella, from when they were young kids, at the age of 6. They had a falling out at age 17 and Kate’s family moved away and Kate never contacted Bella again. Now years later Bella sees signs for a play that Kate is appearing in and she goes to see it and ends up backstage with Kate. They re-start their friendship and talk about their lives. Both are married with a kid and live near each other. But Bella is getting sucked into Kate’s world and being manipulated by her again. Then a series of things happen that will change their lives forever. We follow their lives via chats and actual story over all the years. It’s an intense character-driven thriller and another winning novel from Jessica Fellowes (Mitford novels).

You can pick up The Best Friend in stores on Tuesday, September 13th from Minotaur Books.
