The year is 1961, and in Palm Beach Margo Hightower is at a wedding, and is expecting to be engaged by the time it’s over, instead she’s dumped, and left stranded, she has no money, no job, and no idea what to do. She calls her rich society friend Dolly, who gets her a job as the assistant to world-famous photographer Slim Aarons, who takes pictures of the rich and famous, all around the world. Soon Margo is traveling the world, meeting celebrities, JFK and Jackie, and people of society in Palm Beach, and becomes friends with Lilly, who takes her under her wing, and they become fast friends, or so she thinks. It’s a game with these Palm Beach society folks, and Margo is a pawn, and soon learns trusting and wanting to be one of these members may not be worth it. This is a fun, character driven novel, based on real life people, that readers will eat up.

You can pick up The Beautiful People in stores on Tuesday, April 16th from Graydon House.
