Book Review: ‘The Beautiful And The Wild: A Novel’ By Peggy Townsend

Liv Russo was married to Mark, and they have a seven-year-old son named Xavier, who is disabled. When the police tell Liv that Mark is dead, having jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge, she is left a widow, She then starts getting texts and e-mails, that lead her to a remote area of Alaska, where she finds Mark alive, and living with two other women, and a 10-year-old boy. She is appalled and says she is leaving, but Mark locks her up, and won’t let her out until she agrees to stay and live this new lifestyle with him, and his new family. She agrees, all the while planning her escape, which won’t be easy. It leads to a shocking showdown, and some of them will not survive. A thrilling, psychological novel that gets more intense as you read along. It’s one of those books you don’t want to put down.
