Daphne Brook has just gotten divorced and has a free ticket to a Carolina Battery baseball game, she doesn’t even care for baseball, gets drunk follows the lead of other players, and starts yelling things. She heckles Chris Keppler, who is up at bat, he hears her and starts crying (he has recently had a family loss). It soon goes viral and Daphne sends him a message on social media meaning to apologize, but they soon start a back-and-forth conversation (he has no idea who she is), and they open up to each other. Then she gets a job with the team and there’s an instant attraction between them (again he has no idea she’s the online woman he’s been talking to) and things get hot (with some steamy love scenes written), and they fall for each other until he learns the truth about her and has to decide if he can ever trust her again. This is a great rom-com, with two characters you get to care for and root for to be together. A perfect beach read.
