There’s an old saying hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And never is that more true in the new book The Arrangement. A psychological thriller that starts off strong with a girl calling her estranged father saying she’s in jail for killing someone. Then is kicks into gear with the leading up to the murder and the who and whys of it. It catches the reader and has lots of twists and turns right up to the very end. Author Robyn Harding has written a real page-turner of a story.
Natalie is living in New York City and going to art school. She works as a waitress at nights and barely makes enough to cover her rent and bills (she’s usually behind). She talks with her fellow student Ava and learns that she is a sugar baby. She is part of a sight that looks for sugar daddies to take care of her. Ava goes on dates and is arm candy for money. She doesn’t do it for sex (unless she feels like it). She has been set up nicely. She encourages Natalie to try it. There are certain things to look out for when meeting these men.
She meets Gabe, a man thirty years older than her, and she likes him. They come to an arrangement about their relationship. They eventually fall in love. Gabe has a wife (he told Natalie he was divorced) and 18 year old daughter both with issues. He is going to ask for a divorce but learns shocking news about his daughter and decides he has end things with Natalie. Most sugar babies take it in stride. Not Natalie. She is pissed and will do what it takes to get him back or destroy his life.
When a shocking murder takes place people’s lives will take a dramatic turn and someone will end up in jail and shocking reveal will take place.
The Arrangement is in stores on Tuesday, July 30th from Gallery.
