Book Review: ‘The Accidental Pinup: A Novel’ By Danielle Jackson

Set in Chicago, two photographers compete for jobs and then each other, is another charming rom-com, which is the debut novel from author Jackson. Cassie Harris owns a photography business called Buxom Boudoir and business is good. She has help from Kit, Sam and Dana, a plus-size woman, influencer and designer of all-inclusive lingerie line for women. It’s time to shoot the new line, when Dana, who is pregnant, is ordered to bed rest, they need to find a new model. Cassie is asked to do it, even though she has never modeled. Reid Montgomery, a top-photographer in Chicago is hired to photograph the shoot after Cassie agrees to model and has a secret deal to watch over Cassie and Dana and make sure the shoot goes the way it’s suppose to go. Soon she and Reid, who has family issues, fall for each other as the shoot goes along. When Cassie learns about his deal, it causes a big rift between them, one that they may not be able to overcome. The women are strong, bold and dynamic and the relationship between Cassie and Reid is fun to follow and watch them fall in love.
