The second book in the series focuses on Cryus who is a 700-year-old Kraken, who is a painter, and has no spark to his life lately. Reese, who works for the parks department, is training for a triathlon and is a moody man. Both men are gay, and neither has any romance going on in their lives. It is suggested to Reese to have Cyrus train him for the swimming part of the event, he agrees, and the sparks fly between the two of them. Cyrus figures out that Reese is his life mate, and they soon start having hot sex in a unique way because of Cyrus being a Kraken. They fall for each other, and it scares each of them, and they have to put whatever issues of the past behind them, so they can be together. This book is a great follow-up to the first one and has all the characters back from that novel. Watching the two men fall for each other is heartwarming and fun. A perfect monster in love beach read.
