Poe Webb at the age of 13 witnessed her mother being stabbed to death, and the man responsible let her live, as long as she kept quiet about it. He was never caught, and when Poe got older she tracked the man down and killed him, keeping the secret to herself. Today she has a very popular true crime podcast, with her boyfriend Kip, where she gets people to confess to their crimes. She gets a weird call from a man who claims to be the one who killed her mother, and knows Poe’s secrets. He gets her to confess live on her show all that she did, and Poe swears this can’t be the man, or could he? It becomes a game of cat and mouse, with a shocking final encounter, where all will be revealed. This is a well-written, psychological thriller, that hooks you right at the start and never lets up. It’s one of those books you will not want to put down. One of the first great books of the new year.
