After an intense mission to Antarctica, in which Alex Hawke’s yacht is destroyed after an intense battle, which he won, he’s back at home, in Bermuda, looking forward to spending time with his son and girlfriend. Then he gets a call from Scotland Yard, from Ambrose Congreve, and needs him in Scotland right away, at Balmoral Castle, where King Charles is staying, and when he gets there he learns that the King has been kidnapped, he just vanished on the estate. Alex is on the case and has 72 hours to find him, the PM is worried about the news getting out, and the country going into chaos over the news. Alex soon learns of a plot involving the throne from centuries ago, one that could upend the monarchy in danger, and a revolt in the country. This is an excellent first novel from author Ryan Steck, who has taken over the series after the passing of Ted Bell. It starts off fast and never lets up. The book is all action, which keeps you on the edge of your seat. This series is in great hands with Ryan.
