Det. Inspector Elise King, back after breast cancer treatment, is looking into the murder of a hairdresser, Karen Simmons, in Sussex. Karen was into the dating apps, and ran a singles group, and King wonders if one of the men in the group could be responsible. Kiki Dunn, a reporter, had interviewed Simmons before her death, and she starts investigating as well, which means butting heads with King. Add in Annie Curtis, part of the group, whose child was killed years ago, in the same place as Simmons, and we have quite the novel to read. Told by each person’s point of view, this is another excellent novel by author Fiona Barton, who has never written a bad one, and fans of hers and these kind of novels will love this one.
