I really liked the first book in the Furry Friends series and now author Laura Scott is back with novel number two. And it’s as delightful as the first one. Set in a small Wisconsin town, with quirky characters, including the awesome Gramps and the 3 older woman that all want him, it’s another fun novel. It’s been 3 months since Veterinarian Ally Winters found a body and she and her Gramps helped investigate it (much to the chagrin of Detective Noah Jorgenson). Now she’s out walking a dog she’s boarding and comes across another dead body, this belonging to 20 year-old Pricilla Green. And now Gramps is all out to investigate again and again Noah warns them to stay out of it. Then a second murder takes place and Ally and Gramps keep asking questions and soon Ally finds herself in danger once again, just as her potential relationship with Noah may be heating up. There’s also a lot of action at the Vet clinic with various animals that Ally has to help. It you want a fun book to start the year with, this will work just fine.
