Caroline is 22 years old and has lived a sheltered life in her small Texas town. After her Grandmother leaves her $2 million dollars, her whole estate, she escapes out the bathroom window of her home, and heads off to Boston, to stop her greedy family from trying to take the money, and continue controlling her life. She’s going to school at Boston College, and is very naive about things in the world. She decides to hire an escort, a sugar baby, to be her friend, and escort to all the places she wants to go. Adrian is a 33-year-old struggling, broke artist, and his friend Tom signs him up on a site, and Caroline picks him. She isn’t looking for sex, just companionship. The two go out, hang out, become friends, and then lovers, but things get out of control, and the lines are blurred between love, and being an employee. This is a great rom-com, with two flawed people, who need each other more than they can know. It’s fun following them as they learn about each other, and the world around them.
You can pick up Sweeten The Deal in stores on Tuesday, October 17th from Berkley.
