It’s a busy summer for Lindy and her family. It’s her husband David’s 50th birthday, her parents’ 50th anniversary, and her daughter is getting married. All three events are taking place over three consecutive weekends in Summercove, Maine, where her family has had a home for a long time. The first event is David’s party, and he never shows up. Lindy and her family are worried and start a massive search for him. He is not answering his phone, no credit cards are being used, and his car was spotted getting gas. She soon finds out he took a lot of money out of their accounts, and he has a history of mental illness. As the week drags on, we also learn about a secret Lindy’s mother is keeping, the wedding is on shaky legs, and the family finally learns about what happened to David. This is an intense, well-written novel that, at its core. is about family. The mystery about David, and the other family dramas. make this a perfect summer beach read.
