Daisy Stevens is a NICU nurse and is burned out at the job she is doing now. She decides to relocate to a place that made her happy as a kid, Cape Carolina, North Carolina. She gets a job there where there is a lot less pressure at the hospital. Mason Thaysden is the coach of the high school baseball team, was a star player himself until an injury cut his career before it even began. He is with his star player, Drew, when they find a newborn baby in a trash can. They rush it to the hospital, where he meets Daisy, and a new romance begins. His Aunt Tilley lost the love of her life many years ago and has never gotten over him. We follow along with these three characters over the course of months as Daisy and Mason fall in love, Tilley decides it’s time to start living again, shocking secrets are revealed, and the fate of the baby is revealed. This is another great book that only author Harvey could write. At its core, it’s about family and new beginnings. Following along with Mason and his huge family is refreshing and fun. This is one of the best books of the year.
