Agatha Raisin is having a quiet time at work until a woman, who was part of the Cotsworld birdwatching society, is found dead, while out looking for a rare bird. A giant tree limb fell on her. The police have ruled it an accident, but Agatha thinks foul play is involved and decides to investigate on her own. Then she finds another body, a friend of the woman who died, and someone tries to kill her as well. Police Chief Wilkes, who has it in for her, tries to pin a murder rap on Agatha. There are any number of suspects, and when Agatha finally figures out who the murderer is, she calls in the police and which leads to a raid and showdown. Her personal life is going good, she and John are a couple, and he will be going away to teach dance on various cruises, and she has a handful of other men after her, including Charles, when tragedy strikes. This is the 36th novel in the series, and it’s as good as any of the others. The crisp writing, the snappy dialogue and the LOL moments make reading these books so much fun. Fans of the series will enjoy this one.
