A lot is happening in this book, and Teddy Fay is center stage. At the studio, a new movie is being filmed, and the leading man is throwing a fit about the director, and he’s been given a deadline to shape up or he will be replaced. Teddy and Ben, and his wife are off to Palm Springs for a birthday party for a famous actor. While there, they meet up with Stone Barrington, who is visiting his son Peter. While playing golf, they have a run-in with a oligarch, Victor Popov, who is planning on trying to take over RRE, a wind turbine company. At the party, Teddy runs into him again, and they have words. When an actress, who crashed the party and had a fight with another woman, ends up dead in the pool the next morning, Teddy takes it upon himself to investigate the death. It leads to Teddy being Teddy and figuring out what exactly is going on, and taking action to save the good guys. This is the eighth Teddy Fay novel and it’s a good one. Teddy is always a joy to read, the character is refreshing and well-written by author Brett Battles. Fans of the series will enjoy this one.
