If you’re a fan of small town mysteries, this first novel in the Witches’ Brew series is a delightful debut. Phoebe Winchester is divorced and has inherited her Auntie Eudora’s estate, a mansion and a bookstore/tea room in town. And she also has a delightful cat named Bob, who is waiting for her when she arrives at the mansion. As she gets the lay of the land, she finds a woman named Deirder Miller, who her aunt warned her about, trying to buy the house and her business. Phoebe turns her down flat and gets annoyed with the woman. Then a man is found dead outside the bookstore and Phoebe wonders what is going on. What was Eudora into or had that someone wants? She soon finds out what it is and also finds out she is a witch. And someone else wants what she has and is willing to kill her for it. Filled with fun, quirky characters, tea and food (and recipes in the back of the book), for fans of this genre, you will be happy.
You can pick up Steeped To Death in stores on Tuesday, September 6th from Crooked Lane.
