In a mythical kingdom, Princess Tanadelle of Widdenmar has been cursed by an old lady in a bookstore, and she cannot leave until she discovers her heart’s desire. Her parents, the King and Queen, are upset about this and are trying to find a witch who might be able to remove the curse. In the meantime, they think that a Prince’s kiss might end the curse, and soon seven different Princes show up, kiss her and nothing. They all end up hanging around, as does Bash, a cursed sailor, who has been around since day one of the curse and is annoying and fun. Six months go by, and Tandy, as everyone calls her, has turned the store around and made a home for herself, when her parents show up with a witch, who claims she can send the curse. This is when Tally finally figures out what she wants, and now has to tell her parents about this, and it won’t go well. This book is great. The plot is original, and all the supporting characters are awesome, with my favorite being Bash. This will end up being one of the best books of the year!
