The setting is Clay Creek, Arkansas, where Mylie Mason owns a tackel shop, and lives with her grandma and younger sister, Cassie. Things are going well for her, until her childhood best friend, Ben Lawrence returns, after 10 years, to town to sell his father’s house. As teenagers, they had a secret love for each other but nothing came of it. Now as adults, they are awkward around each other and have to figure out if what they felt then is still here now. We get flashbacks to years ago and get to learn about their lives before and when they finally get together, will it last? The magic of first love takes center stage as we watch these two navigate what they truly want. Another solid novel from author Noblin, who never disappoints.
