Veronica Blackthorne and her 17-year-old daughter, Phoebe, are moving from South Florida back to Mystic Hollow, Connecticut, to live with her Grandmother and help run the family bookstore, Mystic Hollow Books, after she has taken a fall. When she sees the store, she can see it needs a lot of work, but as the days go on, the store seems to be looking better. It turns out it’s because of the family magic, and the three generations of women being there. When it’s time for the literary festival, Veronica is able to call on best-selling author, Andy Whitford, whom she knew previously, and he agrees to headline the event. He agrees as long as she will meet up and spend time with him. When she arrives at the meeting place, she finds Andy dead. She’s worried she will be the prime suspect, and decides to investigate and find the killer before she becomes the prime suspect. A fun, magical small-town murder mystery, with interesting characters, and an easy-to-read story. I hope there will be more adventures with this town and these people.
