Author and Psychologist Faith Finley and her food critic husband Liam are on their way home from her book debut party when they’re are in a major car accident. Faith is taken to the hospital and when she asks the police about Liam they say she was the only one in the car. This can’t be true they left together. She’s also found to have drugs in her system and she denies taking anything.

The police look at her funny but investigate Liam. Turns out he took out a lot of money at near O’Hare airport and think he just took off. There’s nothing else they can do about him. Faith also has a bad publicity out about herself when a former male patient says they had sex when he was 17. She denies it and given this patient’s history (which she can’t talk about) makes her life stressful.

Then Faith starts getting weird notes that are threats. Her sister also gets these notes as well as her estranged mother. We learn about Liam and where he is. And Faith’s life is in danger and it may be from someone she least expects.

A solid thriller that starts off strong and the author makes it seem like it could be any number of people, until the person responsible is finally revealed. A twisty-tale of revenge that engages the reader throughout the story.

You can pick up Someone’s Listening in stores on Tuesday, July 28th from Graydon House.
