It’s been 30 years since the first novel in the series came out, and now it’s 30 years later, and it’s book number 30. In St. Louis, Anita and Jean-Claude are preparing for their upcoming wedding, a necromancer marrying the vampire king, and both are under heavy guard due to threats against their lives. And an old foe has resurfaced and kidnapped Anita, and plans on making her his own, having almost severed the link between her and Jean-Claude. But he is not about to give up, and forces are mobilized, and an intense showdown takes place, between the good guys and the bad guys. This is quite the battle, and Anita has been through a lot over the 30 books, but her toughest battle is about to take place, her family is coming to town to meet Jean-Claude, and she’s shocked when her grandmother is one of them. She’s a horrible, religious woman, who treated Anita badly her whole life, and this is one fight Anita does not plan on losing, her family be damned if need be. I love this series, and this new one is as good as any of the others I have read (I wasn’t there for novel number one). Fans of this series will be happy with this one.
