Noah Adams lives in New York, is gay, lives with his boyfriend/agent Chase and is a playwright, who just had his Broadway show, Stage Of Fools, based on King Lear, open and close on the first night. Then he gets word his father has had a heart attack and flies home to Plainville, Illinois, a small town, to be with his family. That’s where he runs into Luke Carter, who bullied him in high school, and learns he works on his family’s farm. Luke soon learns the local community theater is staging his play, and Noah is asked to direct it. He soon learns this crew of actors is pretty smart, and helps him make changes to the play for the better. He also starts hanging with Luke, who tells him he’s sorry about what happened all those years ago, and how he tried to stop it, which shocks Noah. He and Noah soon fall for each other, after Chase dumps Noah, but it is made tougher by the fact Noah is leaving soon and they have to figure out where their relationship is going, when a surprising turn of events changes everything. This is a fun, charming love story from Tony-nominated Chad Beguelin. Filled with lots of snarky, lol moments, watching Luke and Noah fall in love and come to terms with their lives is uplifting and will put a smile on your face.
