It’s time for the young adult author festival in Nags Head, North Carolina. Author Todd Harrison, who has had a hit series of young adult novels, is scheduled to headline, along with some local artists. The night of the first meeting with everyone, Todd shows up at the home of Lucy McNeil, who is married to Connor, the mayor of the town. Lucy also works at the library, who is putting on the festival. Todd says he has something he needs to talk to her about and when she goes to get drinks, she comes back and finds Todd dead, with an arrow in his chest. A police investigation starts and Licy, who is no stranger to helping to solve murders, begins an informal investigation of her own. There’s a list of potential suspects, including Todd’s wife, his agent, and another writer who claims Todd stole her idea for his new book. When Lucy finally figures out who the murderer is, lives are in danger. This is the 12th book in the series and another good one. I love these small-town murder mysteries and fans of this series will be happy with this one, especially the ending.
