It’s the holiday season on Daybreak Island, and this year Maddie James has decided she’s going to take it easy, no helping the annual holiday festivities on the island, just her business, and getting the house ready for the holiday contest. It was a good plan until things took a turn for the worse. Someone is leaving flyers all over the island for a mysterious cat breeder, the owner of the local newspaper, Donna, is thinking of selling the paper, is found murdered, by Becky, one of Donna’s employees, and Maddie’s good friend and she gets roped into helping with the town festivities after all. Maddie is not one to let things go, and she starts investigating the murder, and cat breeder, and soon learns they’re connected to each other, and may not live long enough to get them arrested. This is the eighth book in the series and another good one. I like this small-town series, with fun and quirky characters, a cool cat named JJ and an easy to read murder mystery. Fans of this series will enjoy this one.
