Book Review: ‘Shadows In Death: An Eve Dallas Novel’ By J.D. Robb Is The Best Book Yet In The Series

I love the Eve Dallas series. I’ve been reading the books for years and they never disappoint me. The newest novel in the series is best one yet. It incorporates every major character (most books do) but this one unites them all in a way that I haven’t seen in previous book. It’s a thrill ride that you won’t want to put down.

A woman murdered in Washington Square Park ruins Eve’s night out with Roarke. They’re both on the scene and Roarke notices a man named Lorcan Cobbe. And this is a bad man. He has claimed that he’s the biological son of Roarke’s father and has always had it out for Roake. Him being there is not good. He’s a contracted hitman and he most likely is the one that killed the woman in the park.

The solving of the murder is the easy part. Finding Lorcan is the hard part. Everyone is on alert for him. Every world wide agency, the NYPD and Roarke. He fears for the lives of Eve, Sommerset and his family back in Ireland. He’s determined to do what he has to do to find Cobbe and take him down.

It leads to one fantastic final showdown and climax to the story. Also we get more LOL moments from the great writing of J.R. Robb in her 51st novel in the series. I can’t wait for number 52 in February.

You can pick up Shadows In Death in stores Tuesday, September 8th from St. Martin’s Press.
