Jane has had the ideal life for the last 18 years married to the handsome Doctor husband of hers Dan and a 12 year old daughter Avery. She’s head of the PTA and invovled in a big event to raise money for the hospital where Dan works. But today Jane is a mess. She learned shocking news about her husband a few months ago…he’s gay and has been for a long time. This news shatters Jane but for appearance sakes they have to keep up they are happily married. Then one night Jane snaps, takes a pill not meant for her and gets arrested by an old high school classmate. In exchange for no charges she must attend a four week class. She slowly starts to figure out her life, meets with her former classmate and starts to get feelings for him. She decides to get her personal life together and she wants to move forward before she snaps again.
A really well-written character driven novel, centered around one woman and her life falling apart. At its core it’s about family and trying to be a protective mother. One of the first good books of fall.
