Jennifer Dalton is a best-selling author and also works as the director of campus writing at Clarion University. Heading to the top floor of the library to do some research, she comes across the body of Professor Doug Barth. One of the prime suspects is Mia Jackson, who Jenn is mentoring in writing novels and getting published. She was seen having an argument with him and pages of her novel were found around his body. She decides to investigate the Professor and finds a number of potential suspects, including his wife, girlfriend and other students. Helping her along is Zachary Flynn, who is a psychologist at the school, and at times she finds her life in danger, someone doesn’t want her snooping around. Then another murder takes place and once again Jenn finds her life in danger, as the killer(s) thinks she knows too much. A solid start to a new series, with fun characters, a potential love story with Jenn and Zach and a cute cat. Fans of small-town murder mysteries will enjoy this one.
