Becky and Carl are married with a 15 year old daughter named Meghan. They had a son who died at a very young age. And now Meghan is sick. She has had test after test and no one can seem to find out what is wrong with her. She has been in and out of hospitals and Doctor offices and again nothing found. When Dr. Fisher is called in he thinks he knows what is wrong with her. It could be the same thing that killed his son. A rare disease that’s hard to diagnose.
When he consults with Dr. Nash she doesn’t think anything is wrong with Meghan. She thinks her parents especially her mother is suffering from Munchausen syndrome (a condition where there is nothing wrong with someone but they make it seem like it is). Dr. Nash goes so far as to have Meghan made a ward of the state and taken away from her parents.
They soon try to fight for their daughter but their marriage has been strained for a while now and soon it becomes too much. Becky has decided that she is going to get Meghan back and devises a plan to go on the run. We soon learn shocking secrets that throw a whole new look at what’s been going on. As Becky races to save her daughter, a shocking truth is revealed and people will die because of a devious plan. It all leads up to a shocking reveal.
Author D.J. Palmer has thrown in a lot of twists and turns to leave you guessing right up to the very end. It’s a real page-turner you won’t want to put down.
