The follow up to last year’s great novel, Nora Goes Off Script, is another great beach read from author Monaghan. Sam and her Doctor fiancé are planning their wedding, and not sure where to have it. His parents have a venue, and Jack is sure they should go there. But it’s the annual family vacation for Sam and her family in the Hamptons, and her mother has a venue in Long Island she thinks they should use. Sam does not want to get married there, and she and Jack will look at it. While there, Sam learns her former high school boyfriend, Wyatt, who lives next door, is back in town. She hasn’t seen him since he broke her heart after high school. All her memories come back, and we get to live them with her, and so do her the feelings, after she starts spending time with him, and now she has to face reality. Is the life with Jack what she really wants, or is she just settling, and could Wyatt be her future? A great story from start to finish. You follow along with these characters, and wonder what Sam should do. The flashbacks enhance the story, and we really get a good sense of these characters. Another well-done novel.
