Jenny Kristal vanished when she was six years old. She was on her way to play with her friend Toni and was never seen again. A search went out but not traces were ever found. Now 12 years later a woman is in town and sees someone and tells them to call the police. She is Jenny and she has returned. The police are somewhat skeptical but as soon as her parents see her they know she’s Jenny.

They take her home and try and get her situated. She brings her brother Ben home to see her and he’s in shock. There’s something about her that doesn’t ring true to him. He even sets her up saying something that happened many years ago and she says she remembers it. But it never happened.

So the question is asked is she Jenny? It’s hard to say anymore at this point. There are lots of twists and turns as the story unfolds. You don’t see some of the twists that come along. A well-plotted story from an author who has had a previous book made into an major movie. This is a pen-name and we don’t know who this author is. Have fun guessing!

You can pick up Safe in stores on Tuesday, June 9th from Dutton.
