Everybody wants ‘the Files,’ a hacked database of potential blackmail material against the rich and powerful. United States agencies and international countries are trying to find it and claim, and Treadstone is now different. Shadow now leads the covert organization and Jason Bourne now works for her. She also was a lover of his when he was David Wells, well before he lost his memory. Storm, aka Johanna, a former Treadstone agent, who was also involved with Jason and who has a vendetta with Shadow, is also after the files, working for a Congresswoman. Jason and Storm end up working together, being watched by Shadow and Treadstone. Jason has to find it quickly, as he got caught up with a powerful Russian, who has taken a girl that Jason knows hostage, in exchange for the Files. Also caught in the mix is Jason’s ex, Abbey Laurent, who is now married in the crosshairs of a killer. Jason has a lot to contend with in this novel, including ex-lovers, betrayals, traps and having his life on the line many times. This is the 20th novel in the series and the sixth one written by author Brian Freeman, It’s an exciting thrill ride that starts off strong and never lets up. Fans of the Bourne series will enjoy this one.
