Book Review: ‘Robert B. Parker’s Stone’s Throw: A Jesse Stone Novel’ By Mike Lupica

The town of Paradise is about to be changed forever if a new land deal is approved and the Throw gets made into a casino/hotel. Two powerful men are bidding on it and fighting over it. And Chief Jesse Stone is not happy about the pending land sale. He and a lot of people in town are trying to fight a losing battle. And then Jesse sees a dead body on the land. It’s the current Mayor, who appears to have killed himself. Jesse doesn’t believe that and starts his investigation into his death, much to the chagrin of the new acting Mayor. Soon it’s found the Mayor was murdered and then another murder takes place, hit-men are in town and the re-appearance of Crow raise a lot of questions as to what is really going on with this land and why these 2 people are so desperate to have it. Jesse is running against the clock to solve the murders and to hopefully keep the land from being sold.

Another solid Jesse Stone novel from Mike Lupica, who has a firm grasp on the Jesse Stone world. These books are always fun to read and if you’re a fan of the series, this is another good one.
