Book Review: ‘Robert B. Parker’s Payback: A Sunny Randall Novel’ By Mike Lupica

Sunny Randall is back for her ninth novel in the series. She’s been dating Jesse Stone (from his own series) for a year now and things seem to be going good. But then word comes from her best friend Spike that he’s lost his restaurant via a bad loan agreement, Sunny jumps into action to help him get it back. But she may be in over head as the man is powerful and has threaten her to back off. And she finds he’s in bed with Russians and maybe even the Russian mafia. But Sunny is not to be stopped and she keeps digging and investigating and getting threats of her own. It all leads to a dramatic showdown, a betrayal and two cases overlapping into one and a trail of dead bodies. All in a days work for Sunny Randall.

Another great book in the series. Mike Lupica has this down really well and continues the tradition left for him from Robert and previous authors, that have worked on the Parker series of Spenser and Jessie Stone.
