Mace Winters owns a big plot of land in Colorado, and he’s considered one of the best big game hunters and people pay a lot of money to have him guide them on hunts. When a tragedy takes place and a man dies, his world is shattered. He loses his license, is found guilty of manslaughter and gets community service, picking up trash. He has started drinking too much and smoking too much weed, and his marriage is in shambles. When he gets an offer to take a couple, Clay and Vanessa, out on the land to look for a mountain lion so they can get a picture, he takes the job. It turns out there’s a lot more to this couple, they have a deadly plan, and Mace and his wife become pawns in this plan. Now Mace will have to use all his skills to save his wife and himself during this deadly game of cat and mouse in the snowy mountains of Colorado. This is the debut novel from author Pat Kelly, and it’s a good one. The action is fast and furious once they get into the mountain, and the last third of this novel is a real thrill ride. Hopefully, we will get more adventures with Mace Winters.
