The second book in the series finds Shaw Connolly, who is a fingerprint expert, working on multiple cases. A car has been found sunk in the water, and it contains the body of Nadia Jimenez, who has been missing for a while now, and a slight print has been found. When the body of an elderly woman is found, Shaw thinks it may be connected to Nadia’s death, and they soon figure out who the killer is. If that isn’t bad enough, Anders Jansen, who is in prison for killing Shaw’s sister, wants to meet with Shaw and give her information on other people he has killed. It leads to him being let out, under guard, to show them locations, and he escapes, and it leads to a shocking showdown. Shaw’s personal life is also a mess; her young son is being bullied at school, and her husband wants to get back together. This is a good follow-up to the first novel. Between work and her home life, Shaw shows what she is made of, and it makes for a good novel.
